Sorry for going on a rant, this is just something that I've been getting angry at recently.

If y'all don't believe me, here's an illustration from 1899 trying to claim that Irish people were actually defended from Black people

Such as, "They're not white! Their skin is clearly Yellow/Red/Olive!" And if they couldn't pull that, they would claim that these people who look white were actually defended from Black people and are not white.

They go "People don't have green(olive) skin, therefore Greek people have always been white!" Without a hint of irony or realizing that white was never about skintone, but about purity and they would make up reasons that other races with white features weren't actually white

I was just doing research on the history of racism against Greek people and the amount of people who buy into the idea that Greek people are and have always been white while erasing things like the Greek Town riots or the fact that "anti-hellinism" was one of the tennents of the KKK in the 1920s
