Or another thing i hear is "your country has been doing this forever." Like, what is the implication of that statment? That I should just do nothing? "Oh well theyve been evil for a while, should just let it go." It's literally the Govt equivelant of "Boys will be boys."

...among tons of other stuff. I look to the rest of the world and see where this can lead, I look to the rest of the world and see the damage my country has done for decades, so I'm gonna do what I can and use the freedom i still have to protect the rights of who i can before it gets to that point.

"it's not as bad as you think, you're overreacting" Yeah sure, there aren't mass graves. But we have people being killed open white supremicist federal agents, dissappeared, concentration camps, a pres openly breaking int'l law, literal rights being stripped away from lgbtq+ folk, gerrymandering...

Boy Trump sure is making the world safer. Just like he did in his first term when he gave Afghanistan to ISIS...?

...and now when he....launched a raid that failed to topple an authoritorian regime and...kill 80 civilians?

Look at us go, winning so hard.

Itd be like if youre neighbor was a piece of shit so you kidnap them, light their house on fire with their cat inside, and imprison them in your basement. And if anyone criticizes you, you say "so youre pro assholism?"

See how that works? You wouldn't be the good guy. You'd be just as psycho.

The only thing accomplished by this highly illegal and cruel operation is a sham trial to distract the world from the US Govt's own authoritarian actions. No one gains anything from this. It's a whole lot of cruelty for a bunch of symbolic crap.
January 6, 2026 at 4:35 AM
Not that I'd support it either way, but the bombing didn't even seem necessary. Seems like they just wanted a distraction, which could've been done with other ways. It was just unnecessary cruelty against an already oppressed people, people who don't like their govt any more than us.

Did we topple the regime? No. No we did not. Did we free the Venezuelan people? No. The US actually murdered 80 of them. Did we stop any drugs? Nope. Is Venezuelas govt functioning and still hurting people? Yup.

Just as I'd expect foreigners to understand that we are not Trump, we need to understand that the people of Venezuela are not Maduro. They're still suffering at the hands of their Govt, it's just now some of them were killed by a foreign "superpower" also. There is no victory in this.
January 4, 2026 at 4:49 AM
Then there's the 40 casualties that weren't Maduro, some of which were civilian, that happened during the kidnapping. Were they the ones who Oppressed the citizens of Venezuela?

I remember reading about Turkey trying to charge a foriegner who never stepped foot in there for making fun of Erdogen online. Imagine if they could just bomb, invade, and kidnap that person.

Or how about China who had an illegal police station in NYC to enforce their laws on their nationals here?

There is no victory to be celebrated on any ground as there will be no gains for freedom. The only thing accomplished was that the world now sees that a big country can declare someone a criminal and come and kidnap them.
