I had seen the painting it in an art book but did not know it is at the PMA. The detail in the painting is astonishing but not overwhelming. The gull in the foreground is a portrait of a gull as Sargent might have painted it. The herring are alive. 😀

Our Labs, Tessa and her son Link, were more than 15 years old when they, separately, crossed the rainbow bridge. We had them from when they were born in Chile.
