Along with the obvious perils of warpcraft. I am not a psyker myself, but many of my brothers were. It takes a disciplined mind to be able to harness the Warp in the presence of Deamons and remain in control of your mind.

The Emperor has not seen it fit to bless me with the abilities of a Psyker. Though my sniper seems to do just fine.
