Been a bit of day where I got called by my stepmother to say that my father (61) had been found confused wandering around and taken to hospital. But I’m travelling to see him tomorrow; it’s hopefully just transient global amnesia; the sun came out and I got to chat to a good friend

One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2024 was to learn to make a fire. Now I’m on fire duty to keep myself and the cat warm this Christmas (house and catsitting for my partner). I’d say this was a successful resolution

Today for the winter solstice I scattered into the river all the plants that didn’t survive the year and all the dried leaves, petals, and seeds I’ve been collecting all year. May the bad parts of this year go with them, break down and find new life elsewhere
