charismatic Franco Nero, beautiful cinematography by Vittorio Storaro and an atmospheric Morricone score can't hide the fact that "Giornata Nera per l'Ariete" is a rather mundane entry in the Giallo genre.

A somewhat weird amalgamation between a Tony Scott and a Joel Silver film. It looks like a Scott film but doesn't quite feel like one. Considering everybody involved apparently hated making this one it's surprising how entertaining it ended up being.
