Today, we (73 volunteers) packed 91 boxes with 19,656 meals to feed children in Guatemala. That’s enough for 54 children to eat for an entire year.

While I’m not convinced that making homemade gyro meat from lamb and beef is less expensive than buying it frozen, it’s mighty tasty. Next time, I’ll run the meat through a food processor to achieve a finer texture.

When the constitution is at risk, we need to support valuable organizations we typically take for granted. The ACLU, Freedom From Religion Foundation, and individual candidates (from both parties) that fight the misleaders and the misinformed. If we all do this. We all win in the end.

Rainy days are excellent soup days. Made this Kielbasa Potato soup. It’s tasty and includes some ingredients (potatoes, spinach, celery and fresh thyme) we needed to use up anyway.
