While we're at it this is a small painting (you can tell by the size of the canvas texture). It's a scene in the hills on another fall day with cows and a barn. I really like to promote distance and atmosphere in my paintings. This is an oil study, 7"x 8"

Another study from the same place and time, Lake Lemon near Bloomington, Indiana. Although the sun was warm It was a cool, crisp fall day that I made this little oil study. I just liked the way the light was gleaming and dancing off the water behind the trees.

So, this is a painting I did while visiting Lake Lemon near Bloomington, Indiana. Gouache has a high pigment content and when dry produces velvety surface quality. I use Gouache to make studies for larger paintings I make in oils.
