I’m a history guy and this bothers me precisely zero percent. The Odyssey is an epic poem, the equivalent of a Marvel movie for people 2.5 thousand years ago. It already has fantastical elements! Seems odd to be like “nah uh that armor shouldn’t exist” when there’s also harpies and cyclopses.
