people love doing surveys and giving their opinions, so a well-crafted questionnaire will usually net you some decent ideas on trends and staples

*puts my experience designer hat on* honestly you're better off doing your own user research on what sells well with your current fans (like interviewing a select few) and putting out questionnaires in big con groups to ask what people like most - you'll get much more accurate data that way :^)

If it's any comfort, best thing you can do is just wait until people build workarounds. The Russian government constantly shutting down access to basically everything but the people have whole systems in place to counter it that update just as fast. If there's a will, there will be a way :^)

it feels like such a minefield trying to navigate the religious parts cause of the salvos tbh but it seems like the local ones here are mennonite or chill about the methodist part which is a relief lol

literally. it's like, 'oh, i see, you've never experienced being ostracised for things you like/things that you are. you just like the *idea* of weirdness and want other people to do the hard part for you.'

it ends up feeling like one of those empty platitudes like 'be gay do crimes' where you know the person saying it has never even mildly annoyed a mall cop
