Well, thoughts and prayers don't seem to work to prevent gun violence but perhaps they can summon an asteroid. Worth a try. I mean statistically 100% of mass shootings result in thoughts and prayers and every time we apply thoughts and prayers we have another mass shooting. QED. MAGA Math 101

In the 1950s there was a concern about comic books and depravity, then Tipper Gore blamed lyrics for violence, Lieberman held the first congressional hearings on video games (1993), and now the GOP is blaming games. The real reasons are multifactoral but easy access to firearms is a huge part.

NOT MILQUETOAST DEMOCRATS as most (not all) of the current politicians identify. The DNC are just a lighter version of the RNC. Support the DSA (not a party), support independents (not a party), and develop a socially progressive choice. Schumer style politics should not define the dems. It does.

I didn't say I wanted a third party. I said a new choice. If that is a third party, great, but I think we will have better luck with independents. The current party is weak, soulless and milquetoast in conviction. A socially progressive, leftist choice is needed. Alternatives are independents.

There already is an alternative and has been for a long time but unfortunately, since Clinton (maybe Carter), the party has concentrated on being centrists and abandoning a socially progressive ideology in favor of neoliberalism and frank capitulation. It hasn't worked. The billionaires still win.

Perhaps in the late 1700s and early 1800s, this would be true. But with 2% of the GDP being revenue from tariffs, we have a bit of a way to go just yet. You are more likely to get your DOGE check or protest money from Soros before no income tax.

Well, enter at your own risk, I guess. They won't find much in the way of harbored criminals or aliens of an enemy state, but I cannot guarantee the reception they will receive. It might be a bit ouchy for everyone.

I am not sure why anyone would want to come here. We are an embarrassment. Canadian citizens that frequently travel to or live in the US have been detained for weeks at a time for visa infractions. Out of control.

It's completely unacceptable. This is not "government efficiency." It is unequivocally systemic racism. BIPOC communities are impacted by food insecurity at higher percentages than White-non Hispanic communities. They are forcing people into abject poverty.
