Pattern pieces cut and laid out, and then sewn together info a horrible inside out slug-mupped nightmare. But it looks great pinned on the head!
The skin is currently being washed, and then I will be drying and prepping it for the final glue onto the foam headbase.

And some process pics of the taping to make the pattern. The four horns on the sides of the head will be permanently attached, while the two large horns on top (not shown) will be removable via magnets for the sake of transport. Argent’s face only has two colors, so I tried to limit pattern pieces.

And here are the horns! I used gold vinyl from BigZ fabrics and it is SO pretty but a massive challenge to work with. I love how they turned out though! I need to take the base of the large horns shorter, but other than that I’m very happy with everything.

The hoods! He’s going to have two different hoods, attached to the head with a combination of sippers and magnets. Maybe. I’m still figuring that part out. I really want him to have swappable/removable hoods both for style and travel purposes.

Then it was time to line the mouth. I redid the upper jaw twice because I wasn’t happy with the fit, and I’m glad I did because it is so much nicer looking now. And now Argent has clown lips. He’s gonna be like this for a while.

I was pretty happy with the cheeks but he still felt more dragon-like than he did snakey. So… I added more cheek. I think T this point he has two and a half inches of foam on each cheek. I also added some brows and made a temporary eye and tongue. He was really coming together at this point!

And now…. The cheekbones. This was probably the most stressful but satisfying part of the build. It felt like I was adding so much bulk and weight to the head, but it really helped to give the appearance of a snake. Making this head really snakelike was super important to me.

Onto the shapes! I sculpted the top muzzle first, and then the bottom jaw, and finally the brow ridge. I used lots of references, but by far the most helpful was the 3D render or a resin cobra fursuit base by @ligriscybernetics.bsky.social His work is absolutely incredible, please support his work!

First step was the bucket base. These things look ugly as heck but are a nice jumping off point for building a fursuit head. I used half inch foam for the bucket to keep things lightweight, and because I knew I would be building up a lot of foam to get the shape I want.
