first that comes to mind is cluny the scourge. do they have to be Rats or do mice count too? because i can think of more famous fictional mice (geronimo stilton, matthias the warrior, the mice from cinderella, stuart little) vs rats

If you want recs, the podcast Nothing Much Happens might be good as a transition from light and noise to pitch black silence. I used to do audiobooks, but they started stressing me out, so I swapped to NMH, and it knocks me out in like, 5 minutes or less and is fairly unobtrusive.

once got yelled at for letting my dog sniff grass on the parking strip (city owned) outside someone’s house. like omg please, we live in a society and this is not even your grass 😭
