Her juvenile son a bit wet and sitting on my computer terminal 🖥 they brought such joy! His character was so different to his mums and sister. Beaker was fierce when she needed to be, seeing off the crows, he was boisterous, and his sister quite timid, cautious.

Now let's start talking about why you might want to make crow friends.

I can't begin to enumerate the reasons, but I'll try. The best one is simply that interacting with beautiful wild creatures with sublime intelligence that recognize us as individuals adds immeasurable beauty to our lives. (19/n)

So let's get back to how you befriend crows. You need to realize that crows are acutely aware of human gaze. They watch you, know which direction you are looking, follow your gaze, and use this to predict your behavior.

Going back to Robert Frost, sometimes after an unpleasant work meeting or something they find me, tired and grumpy, as I'm leaving my building. They never fail to make me laugh, and to turn around my mood.

I think this is my favorite part of being friends with the crows here. It is so fun and rewarding to prepare a meal for them, then call them, and not have to wait or hope they find it, but rather to hear them calling back right away as they race through the neighborhood to my house. (11/n)

For the crows that live near my house, I have a call as well. It's simple. I go outside and shout "Hello, crows!"

I'd do that every time before feeding them, especially if they were nearby to see me feeding.

It's so much fun to have bird friends who recognize you. If you feed them regularly, they will.

They're remarkably good at recognizing faces, gaits, and even the sound of a particular car's engine.

In the rain wearing a new jacket with the hood up? They recognize me. (5/n)
