I turn ideas into software and explore how to make them profitable.
The common advice is to have a polished landing page and a waitlist before you launch.

That's sound advice if you're a great builder.

But I have to do the opposite, so my project doesn't remain as wishful thinking.

Less dreaming, more shipping.

Building an app with all the desired functionality and a great UI is a massive amount of work, often resulting in nothing shipped.

That's why getting a minimal, rough version out the door puts you ahead of those still waiting for perfection.

Get ahead by shipping more. Perfect can wait.

My days of doomscrolling are over!

I set up a simple automation on my iPhone to catch me when I start mindlessly doomscrolling.

What are your tricks for avoiding doomscrolling during the day?

Every good product needs a great logo. I am trying out some brighter colors to stand out from the traditional blues and purples common in today's (AI-generated) SaaS landscape.

Feeling a slight sensation of anxiety given my current pace and competencies when developing my current project.

I keep looking at other well-established products and feel so overwhelmed and far behind.

I'll just have to remember that everyone started where I am at some point!

How do you figure out which kind of design your app should have?
Do you just follow a component library, buy a template, browser Figma Community?

After years away from coding, it feels like I’m starting over, like a junior again!

To properly relearn the fundamentals, I’m avoiding over-relying on AI.

It may be slow now, but it’ll pay off in the long run.

What provider do you use for hosting?

I'm planning to go "old school" and go against the cloud crowd and simply host myself through Hetzner.

Am I in a world of trouble?

The best projects to build are often the ones you need the most yourself.

With that in mind, I decided to enter the red ocean of social media management tools.

I'll make one for the solo entrepreneurs and small businesses that do not have dedicated resources for a marketing department.

Any Ruby on Rails developers to follow that are part of the #buildinpublic community?

I'm in an extraordinary position where I currently have the funds to go all-in on building software.

I have the next 3 months to build and ship a product that generates revenue.

Follow me here for updates on the tech, product, and finances along the way. I'll try to be as transparent as possible!
