COP30 saw a key win on the crucial issue of a just transition mechanism. However, fundamental justice issues remain and ultimately the final decision text is unfit to keep within the threshold of 1.5°C.

At COP30 today, 62 faith institutions have announced their divestment from fossil fuels 🌍

This is one of the biggest fossil fuel divestment announcements to date, and a real example of climate leadership and a commitment to a fairer future.

'The direct losses & damages caused by Cyclone Freddy in Malawi in 2023 is estimated at over $506 million, double the amount available in the start-up phase.

There was such excitement around the Loss & Damage Fund. It was a real symbol of climate justice. But 3 years on it’s still an empty shell.'
