Apparently it takes 4 guards to keep the (very safe) Dupont Circle metro safe. I asked if they were on a break or if this is where they're stationed today.

Stopped by CVS & Container Store, then walked home. This area is near a huge high school, and I'm in there once a week.

Some stores limit the number of teens who can be inside at once to deter shoplifting. Local stores came up with a local solution - no National Guard needed.

Most DC commercial buildings can only be about 13 stories tall. Their height max used to be tied to the width of the street on which they front, which means that DC has a low skyline and wide streets, sometimes with foliage in the middle. 🌳

Escalator at Dupont Circle really needs some WD40. Dupont is lovely and green, natch, and filled with people from office workers to houseless people.

We in DC have work to do, such as finding ways to support our houseless population, but - this is not a National Guard situation.
