1903, Serbia’s unpopular King Alexander and Queen Draga Mašin were brutally assassinated in their bedroom. The autocratic king had suspended the constitution multiple times, and the couple was loathed by the public and military. Their bodies were tossed from a balcony in piles of manure.

TIL of King Charles II of Navarre. Known as The Bad, he was a scheming and ineffective ruler in southern France.

To treat his ailments, he was sewn into a brandy-soaked canvas, a common practice at the time.

Unfortunately, the fabric was "accidentally" set on fire, and he burned alive in 1387.

Larry Bird grew up in tiny French Lick, IN. He briefly attended the U. of Indiana and quit basketball. Luckily, Indiana St. offered him a 2nd chance. Bird led ISU to 33-0 season and the NCAA Finals. He later won 3 NBA MVPs and 3 Championships with the Celtics.

Charles Lightoller, Titanic’s fourth officer and highest-ranking survivor, swam to an overturned lifeboat and organized survivors to stay afloat in freezing water. Later, he defended the crew in inquiries, served in World War I, and rescued 125 soldiers at Dunkirk in 1940. He died in 1952 at age 78.

Leslie Arnold murdered his parents at 16 in 1958, escaped prison in 1967, and lived a secret life under an alias in New Zealand and Australia until his death in 2010. His true identity was revealed in 2022 through a DNA test authorized by his younger brother.

What a difference being 2nd makes.
Just 122 days after Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's famous landing, Pete Conrad and Alan Bean became the 3rd and 4th men to walk on the moon.
It was November 19, 1969.
It's sad that they are not household names today like Neil and Buzz.

Jews have had been in Morocco for 3,000 years.

More came after the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492.

Before World War II there were as many as 250,000 Jews in Morocco, but most left after the war. The majority moved to Israel or to the U.S.

Today there are about 3000.
