footnote: As I've said before, the cartoon was only "kind of" banned. In 2006 I was permitted to include it in the Best of TV Funhouse DVD.

"It’s like the country has abandoned our constitutional republic in favor of serving international oligarchy. There are millions of Americans who share this view, we just don’t have a viable party that can implement our views. I call it selective democracy!"

"The insouciance and brainwashing by our corporate media have allowed this erosion of our democracy to happen. Americans are a great people but know very little about the real history of their country especially in the area of foreign policy....

This kind of thing was par for the course for Bob. He repped and negotiated for the DGA and fought endlessly for the rights of union members, and was celebrated by the Guild numerous times for his advocacy as well as his work as an A.D.

Bob then told Adam McKay the cartoon was replaced by a second Backstreet Boys song, which had no mentions of GE polluting the environment. Adam then leaked the story to a few journalists, forcing NBC to claim it wasn't funny (not that it was) and that's why people know & still talk about it today.

The entire brouhaha (I prefer kerfuffle, but take your pick) over my TV Funhouse Conspiracy Theory Rock cartoon was the result of Bob's actions. Among Bob's duties was conforming all SNL reruns, and when he was told to remove that cartoon from a rerun, he immediately protested it as censorship.
