Actually no by that point Renly had absolutely met her? God it's been years I can't remember. He still scoffed at the concept.

misogyny - I think Cersei may have even called her a slut or something? But then the show just decides to go and validate that by having Margaery's promiscuity indeed so legendary that a character who, as far as we know, has never met her (iirc?) scoffs at the possibility of her being a virgin.

Earlier seasons too! I was talking about Margaery here a bit but the show just absolutely runs with Cersei's interpretation of her and completely misses a lot of Cersei's inner turmoil because of it. Cersei's view of Margaery is intensely painted by how much she's internalised her society's

Oh yeah Ramsay is an interesting one! I always kinda took them as just trying to make him a bit more of an 'epic' villain, though definitely over the top for my tastes.

To me Margaery has always been the epitome of this in the show. "Promiscuous and manipulative" is how Cersei saw her because Cersei is intensely jealous yet in the show she's portrayed exactly like that. In the books we have no evidence she's not exactly who she appears to be!

Not to say that I don't think there is a group of people who care enough about animal welfare that when given the option of an animal product vs an identical non-animal product they'll suffer some costs to take the non-animal one, but by-and-large the most significant reason people eat meat in the

Between the artificiality of it, financial costs of doing it at scale and the fact that a lot of people tie their masculinity up in their meat consumption, I fear a large social backlash against any attempt to replace farmed meat with lab-meat, and stores and restaurants won't make it a default.

I'm less optimistic. Not eating meat is pretty easy, it's a matter of not doing something and there is plenty of tasty vego food, the hard part is fighting against the social expectation that one will eat meat: being a hassle to your friends, finding restaurants that have good veggie options, etc.

I'd suggest just restarting it, it's not that long a game! Better that then spending all your time trying to remember everything. Sounds like you were only about 3-4 hours in?

a quick enough wit to respond qu'est-ce que c'est?
Got called racist and anti-Semitic several times a day during that election and I started getting used to it, but it does wear at you. Made me appreciate I don't have the stomach to be a candidate that's for sure.

Oh he also called me a few other choice insults, but while I'm a pretty sensitive softy I've been in politics enough to have been called worse.
At our last election over here when I was canvassing for the Greens I had someone walk up to me and just say "Baby killer!"
Couldn't quite work out if it

Oh jeez, I got my first taste of the real hardcore weirdos
This guy's going *nuts* reposting my comments and insulting me. I enjoyed that he dug through all my replies to find evidence of the fact that I'm Australian, when it's literally the first line of my bio. I'm worried about him tbh.

I just didn't want you to think I was butting in because you couldn't 'handle it' or something. Anyway I'm convinced he's just trolling or arguing in such immense bad faith that I'm not gonna waste my precious keystrokes anymore.

To then accuse me of dunk politics is absurd, given your own attitude. Frankly, I think you're trolling at this point, I don't know why I even wasted my time here.

... okay, I'm not going to assume even a modicum of good faith anymore. Basically no one who wasn't really into New York politics knew who Mamdani was during the federal election last year and I would be surprised if anyone was recorded asking for his endorsement of Harris at all.

I was actually worried that butting in here would have been a little arrogant but I felt your point obvious and I was irritated at him not getting it! And it helped me continue to procrastinate.

capitulation is somehow tactical and good for the Democrats as a whole, yet his lack of support for Mamdani demonstrates his lack of loyalty to his party and his poor political instincts, which is the point Emma is trying to make here, no?
