Nonsense. The Fairness Doctrine never regulated “news.” If it ever made sense, it was when there were only 12 UHF TV channels and terrestrial transmission provided the only means of mass electronic communication. It could never have been enforced once cable TV and the Internet came into play.
LOOKING BACK: This all began with Reagan's repeal of the Fairness Doctrine. News stopped bring a regulated public service....
