In an ideal world this would ofc be customizable, hopefully someday! Just giving context.

See here

You may consider the list more valuable than a ToC, which is super understandable, but it's not wasted space! We just designed Reader differently (and more inline with what we felt the world needed, rather than yet another RSS app)

The left sidebar is for the table of contents… though yes sometimes it’s empty, and you can still jump ahead with keyboard shortcut j

Reader is generally built for more immersive reading rather than just skimming so i’m not sure we’ll add that ui just because other apps have it!

if you read it properly, you will understand the world is much more malleable than you thought, and progress can be made anywhere you direct your will+creativity.

and that understanding is priceless.

Honestly we dont recommend Reader for feeds with like 50+ items a day.

That doesnt mix well with our local-first architecture.

So yeah, meant more for stuff like newsletters.

If you’re doing pure headline scanning i’d recommend something like feedly!

I tried to tell the poaster dude this and he didn’t listen. No point reinventing the wheel on a lot of this stuff

Haha yeah agreed. Can do a bookmark/dm integration once those.. exist

But way too early for reply to save. Maybe after 10M users :P

it wasn't $500/month, it's $42000/month if you have any substantial usecase at all.
