Another cookie experiment ahead of Christmas (if I did them for Christmas I’d use red/green nonpareils). These use almond extract as opposed to vanilla and you can really taste the difference I feel. Very different to my other cookies. The more I eat them, the more I like them 🍪😂

With some unexpected free time today, I played a lot of Ninja Gaiden 4. The more I play it, the more I like it 🎮😃

I had a very sad couple weeks and decided to treat myself to this Jak and Daxter figure I had been eyeing. I had sort of sworn off buying figures besides Funko Pops (since they are cheap), but Jak and Daxter is my fave and their merch is so rare and I don’t think they’re ever getting Funkos.

I didn’t get a new Funko for my birthday this year, so I took a peek at the store while I was out and grabbed this Wild Robot one. I love when a Pop comes with a little bonus buddy and this one has two 😃

These are the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever made. I’ve been taking notes every time I make cookies this year, so I intend to try and reproduce these tonight. Hoping I have found the final form of my classic chocolate chip cookie.

When I go to bed, Socks comes over and paws at the blanket so he can crawl under and sleep behind my legs. When I get up in the morning, I try to sneak out to leave him undisturbed under there. He didn’t even wake up when I went back to feed him and picked up the blanket. Got a cute shot of his paw.

Having our summer BBQ tomorrow so I made some more of those jam-filled thumbprint cookies, but also this chocolate peanut butter variant as well. They’re pretty good 🍪😃

I finished this book today. I was so excited to see how it ended, but now I am sad it is over. I look forward to the next entry in this series and whatever else Joe Abercrombie has coming. He’s my favorite author 😃

Went back to the red velvet cookie well to try a few variants. Really liked how the sandwiches came out. I did a few of those with white chocolate drizzled on top that probably tasted the best, but it was a last second addition so looked sloppy lol. That will probably be the final version though 🍪😃

I made some red velvet(ish) cookies with cream cheese-based frosting. They turned out really tasty. Need to work on my icing skills a bit lol. Next time maybe I use a piping bag.

I am generally of the mind of “why put raisins in a cookie when you could put chocolate chips instead,” but my best friend loves oatmeal raisin cookies so I made some for the first time for her birthday. Came out pretty good. I think she will be surprised given my stance on the matter lol.

I was finally able to upgrade my grumpy girl Bandit from barn cat to indoor cat! She has come such a long way since I first found her outside last year. Next step will be to try and introduce her to Socks. I hope they get along (or at least tolerate each other lol) 🥰🐱😃

Stella likes to get on the couch and kick the pillows off. Somehow that must have gotten her into this sleeping position 😂 I wish I had seen how 🐶🥰

A pretty neat mix of the romantic comedy and slasher genres. The humor is a bit hit-or-miss, but it made me laugh pretty often. There are some fun kills too. The killer reveal fell flat for me, but the whodunnit aspect isn’t really the focus, so that didn’t hurt it much.

I went to see Lauren Mayberry at the Union Transfer in Philly earlier this week. While I prefer her work with my favorite band Chvrches, her new solo album was still fun and I enjoyed seeing her live again. I’ve seen Chvrches seven times and her solo twice now 🎶😃

This was just very much my kind of movie and a whole lot of fun. A little sci-fi, a little horror, and a little thriller all mixed together. A great sense of humor and some clever twists and turns. And an excellent lead performance by Sophie Thatcher. I had a blast watching this one.
