Finally finished this video about Cape Breton that I've been working on for a bit. It's an look at three films (New Waterford Girl, Margaret's Museum and Werewolf) and how themes of tragedy and struggle are near constants in everything we produce. Was a fun exercise!

Is it weird that I’m starting to crave a social media experience that resembles that of a local newspaper? Like, you get up in the morning, sip your coffee, and have a curated feed of finite news, info and entertainment. Then you’re just done with it and move on with the rest of your day.

So just as an experiment I played with Open AI’s slop app Sora and gave it the following prompt.
“Realistic 90s camcorder footage of a bunch of children trick or treating. They break into a house and steal some VCRs and TVs and then run away before the cops can arrive.”

My hot take on iOS26 is that Liquid Glass is astonishingly ugly. It feels like a weird middle point between the flat design pioneered by Ives and Forstalls more skeuomorphic tendencies.
Maybe I’ll adjust to it but it’s weird bubbly aesthetic just isn’t doing it for me at the moment.

So I finally bit the bullet and watched Kpop Demon Hunters. Took me so long because I have an infantile reactionary aversion to things that are popular.
It’s great. Might be one of my fave films I’ve seen this year.
