Bit of a disastrous hike today - took a wrong turn, tried running back to the turn I missed and fell. Bright spot was seeing this growing on the side of a dead tree. No idea what it is but it looked neat

Every year the Boy Scouts holds a food drive. This year I signed up to help sort the food they pick up. One pack collected at a grocery store, they got 1853 lbs of food. Please give to local food banks if you can

I was surprised at how much similarity there is between Canyonlands National Park and The Grand Canyon. Except Canyonlands is much more spread out. The juniper trees are incredible, the way their trunks twist and turn. They will cut off water & nutrients to 1 part of the tree to save another part

More from our hummer tour. Dinosaur track up on a cliff (white stuff is from plaster cast taken when 1st found). Another gorgeous landscape from the spot where we saw the track, the town hugging the opposite cliffs is Moab. And a lovely sunset at the end of our tour.

Dinosaur for imprint in grey stone. They used plaster to take a cast way back when they first found it and it left an outline. There were several more but this was the biggest one. Beautiful landscape of a valley with far off cliffs on the right worth a town below them. The town is Moab Utah, where we stayed for our adventures. The valley is dry and sandy with little vegetation. There are far off mountains on the left and smaller cliffs closer in on the left. Feels like you can see forever Sun setting over the cliffs on the western edge of Moab with a bit of the valley in front of them. The sky is filled with clouds except where the sun is touching the top of the cliffs

Off-road tour in a modified hummer in a place called hell’s revenge. Great driver! Rode straight up giant hills, over rough terrain of huge rocks and he drove backwards up the big hill you can see in the distance 😳. We had a great time!

Took a scenic drive along the Colorado river in SE Utah. We stopped at a small sandy area and had a nice chat with a family that was getting ready to canoe down the river. Wandered around a little ways in the water, nice treat on a very hot day!

Tall dark brown and red rock cliffs reflected in the clear green waters of the Colorado river. The sand at the waters edge was off the same reddish color of the rock on the cliff Dipping my toes in the Colorado river. The sand and silt in the water was very thick, more like mud than sand. You can see my shadow since the water was very shallow and the day was bright and sunny
