OK, yeah, that is just... weird
random intermittent failures such as that are just *the worst*

...at least I think that makes more sense than, like, that one USB stick being enough to trip your PSUs overcurrent protection during rush-in...

Weird that is just restarts... you'd think if you get a short that kicks in the short circuit protection, that it then stays off until you remove what actually leads to the short...
maybe there is simply some bare contact on the backside of the MoBo and it shorts out to the case when you push?
January 14, 2026 at 9:44 PM
...sure?
January 14, 2026 at 8:50 PM
that... is a mildly weird error state.

//Do I dare ask?
...dead RAM?
January 14, 2026 at 5:41 PM
//Ah, yes, the sun... my everlasting nemesis ._ .
Great picture!

As a general rule of thumb, most people are happy when you draw their OC (assuming, of course, no obvious ill-intent in the drawing)

//I have cut people from my life for WAY less, and had boycotted (and continue to do so) corpos for lesser transgressions.
Dafuk kinda entitlement is this? ._ .

//No idea, but since it is on my mind right this moment: Queen In Yellow ._ .
November 22, 2025 at 12:32 PM
//there is such a thing as "intermittent failure". A small problem, like a couple dead RAM cells, would not necessarily mean the entire thing stops working entirely, just that it runs into some error at some point.
And yes, those ARE the most annoying problems to diagnose.
October 17, 2025 at 3:56 PM
//I mean, I have seen RAM die (or at least take some weird damage) for less... .- .
October 16, 2025 at 11:34 PM
doesn't work out, maybe look into your RAM situation ._ .
October 16, 2025 at 12:19 PM
//huh, looking up that specific error tells me that the most common reason for that is apparently faulty RAM... makes sense, RAM being borderline functional can generally lead to weird, hard to diagnose errors that seem to have little rhyme or reason
So, if the whole "use a different outlet" . . .
October 16, 2025 at 12:19 PM
...yeah, that DEFINITELY sounds like that specific circuit in your house is... not particularly clean .- .
October 14, 2025 at 6:53 AM
//Might be worth a shot to at least experiment with plugging it into a different part? ._ .
October 14, 2025 at 6:46 AM
//hmm... possible? Overly dirty electricity can have weird effects on hardware. Before I replaced my PSU my windows got weirdly slow - and the fan of it became stupid loud.
Turned out, some of the electrolytic caps in it leaked, so, the power likely got less filtering ._ .
October 14, 2025 at 6:31 AM
//...dumb as it sounds, but, have you considered simply making a file backup, then delete the entire drive and doing a fresh OS install? Annoying work, but if all else fails, that can sometimes work as a last resort "just nuke it" approach ._ .
