I was so proud to be listed on Cycling UK's 100 women in cycling 2022.

Because of their recent decision to exclude transwomen from the list, I have requested my name be removed.

Transwomen are women & cruel politics has no place in the cycling spaces that I campaign and research for.

Car culture is wild. Coz wdym the M&S Christmas advert is celebrating a huge traffic jam (which generally means a very serious, often fatal collision) and promoting people exit their cars on the motorway.

But this isn't my main point.

Where we got off the bus there was a similar stop. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've not seen this one discussed on social media.

It's a well used stop on a long, wide, straight road, which has a 20mph limit but many drivers go much much faster.

Reflection on on how cycleways materialise mundane pedestrian infrastructure.

This is a bus stop on the newish Chorlton cycleway.

I've seen so many posts about it on social media. Largely around accessibility concerns.

So here's my thoughts:

I'm not sure the term 'liveable' is up to scratch if it's describing areas with an average house price of over £500,000

One year anniversary of being six weeks pregnant and falling down the stairs and breaking my coccyx on the way to RGS.

Missing the conference again this year but for a much better reason.

Unsurprisingly perhaps, my favourite maternity leave activity with the baby is joining the Walking Mums Club.

Rain or shine, often both, we meet weekly at our local park, walk together with our babies, and then visit the cafe for coffee.

Needed to go to big Asda.

Baby too small for the trike still so we got the bus.

Awful driver.

Then we get off the bus and are greeted by this massive junction without signalled pedestrian crossings.

No wonder people drive ten minute journeys.

Or - and perhaps this is too leftie for the Daily Mail - drivers could simply be competent, pay attention to the road, and not hit the kerb?

📢 New article out from our NIHR-funded 'LTNs in London' project.

A metholdogical paper - we nuance perspectives on congestion and its role in LTN debates, while also providing guidance on mixed methods approaches to evaluating transport policies

Nah babe don't worry, no-one will even notice how inappropriate your vehicle is for a built-up area.

Really enjoyed this year's Lord Mayor's procession. The first (I think?) to be completely vehicle free.

Nice to see a variety of cycles in the procession, as well as a pedibus being used as a float.

Instead of vehicles, groups were using trikes & wagons to transport supplies & sound equipment.

I haven't cycled since August 2024!!

How long did it take others to start cycling after giving birth - especially if you had an episiotomy?

Desperate to get triking with Frida & the baby this summer.

But the thought of a saddle is making me very anxious 🤢🤢🤢

I could barely move the entirety of my pregnancy.

Combo of hyperemesis + chronic illness meant I spent most of the first and third trimesters as an inpatient in hospital.

Evening dog walks as a family of four now feel even more special for it.

Has anyone tried carrying a small dog (5kg) on a Brompton? What was your setup if so?

Asking for a poodle.

9 weeks ago @caglarkoksal.com & I welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world.

Taking 3 induction attempts & a 30 hour labour, we think she's inherited my stubbornness & Çağlar's sereneness.

I'm now on mat leave til spring 2026. My OOO has contact details for others in the ATA.

Are you disabled and live in York or Cardiff?

Do you have issues with access control barriers on traffic-free routes when walking, wheeling, or cycling?

We are recruiting disabled participants for in person interviews to discuss their experiences.

DM, comment, email if interested.
