Though the work itself is far from a masterpiece, kind of a crossover between Corelli & Scarlatti but slightly less inventive, the performances are absolutely top notch & just plain gorgeous. Lovely!

Giovanni Bononcini - La Nemica d'Amore fatta Amante
(Ensemble 415, Chiara Banchini)
Though the work itself is far from a masterpiece, kind of a crossover between Corelli & Scarlatti but slightly less inventive, the performances are absolutely top notch & just plain gorgeous. Lovely!

On András Schiff birthday I'm re-visiting those thoughtful and detailed interpretations of Brahms's piano concertos. Although it took me a while to fully appreciate them, these immaculately and luminously played readings have power to change the listener's perception and understanding of the pieces.

She has a damn fast fingers, her technique is obviously excellent but her interpretations (at least those that I've checked) are very bland and leave me completely cold.
As for the "fabulous" dresses of hers, it's obviously a matter of taste, but I find a lot of them cheap, bordering on vulgar (⬇️).
