The Tech industry needs many things, 'masculine energy’ is so far off the list it’s not even visible.

Scent is absolutely the most powerful memory trigger for me. It pulls me back to a moment in time the way nothing else can. Sometimes it's a blessing, other times it breaks me in a way nothing else can

Oh no! I get mine from Sainsbury's though I think the local Tesco stocks it. It can be so hit and miss trying to get things sometimes. 😕

Merry Christmas to you and yours Mr P. Looking forward to many more good tales flowing from your pen.

That has been on my TBR list for a while, thanks for the reminder. I'll bump it up, it's not long since I read Half-Built Garden and I like to gently 'theme' a few books together as it stretches my thinking which is never a bad thing.

2/2 The Book Club discussion around it was excellent. I would recommend the review by @jonathanthornton.bsky.social (disclaimer - he's a member of our book group) fantasy-hive.co.uk/2024/11/a-ha...
A HALF-BUILT GARDEN by Ruthanna Emrys (BOOK REVIEW)
Today, Jonathan reviews Ruthanna Emrys's first-contact sci-fi A HALF-BUILT GARDEN: "an astounding work of science fictional imagination that demonstrates just how vital the genre can be at its best"

1/2 It's a while since I have read a book that touches on such a wide range of current themes in a coherent whole, and is still a good read without being 'preachy'.

Probably A Half-Built Garden by Ruthanna Emrys and a Book Club re-read of Christopher Priest's A Dream of Wessex. Both thought provoking, particularly the former.
