Some populations excell at certain sports, we do not bar them from competing because of that because that would clearly be discriminatory. This is that.

Not to be a Newsome apologist, his answer was a bit more nuanced than that. What I heard was a man who needs his constituents to tell him that we will not accept throwing trans people under the bus. We have to send the message that trans athletes must be free to compete in events with cis athletes.
