Anyway, that's why I built Downtemp.

If any of this sounds familiar: juggling plans, wondering who's doing what, or getting major FOMO, check out
@downtemp.com.

It's still early, but I'm really proud of it. 😅

Would love for you to try it and tell me what you think 🙏

You can also just casually throw out an idea with a "Feeler" to see if anyone's interested.

Because sometimes I just wanna go to the park and wouldn't mind having a friend join, but hitting a group feels kinda awkward, and texting a bunch of people individually feels aggressive.

And each event gets a group chat, so that things don't get lost, you don't have to keep manually adding or removing people, and the chat doesn't bother people who can't go.

Sooo, I finally decided to do something about it and built
@downtemp.com.

It's all about solving that problem by letting you follow your friends, post your plans, and just have people see what you're up to... then jump in if they're interested (or keep things private and invite-only if you want).

But I realized I'll post on my story when I'm at a show or snowboarding, and SO often people reply like, "Dude, I was there! You should've hit me up!"

I just wish there was a more passive way to tell people what I'm up to without juggling a bunch of group chats or DMs from story replies…

It's kinda like Partiful, but less playful and less open.

But that made-by-Apple vibe can be a strong pull. It could even be included by default on new devices in the future, who knows.

And while that doesn't always mean something, iMessage certainly has had its social power, so we'll see... 👀🕵️

Ooooo k, so after playing with it, I may have overreacted. 😅

It's nice! For sure! But it's not what I'm building.

It's basically a pretty, structured invitation with some Apple conveniences, and Apple limits (iCloud Photos, Apple Music).

Oh, and it requires an iCloud+ paid sub to create events.

Oh wow, that's interesting. I can see how that'd help with GPU temps, but I'm surprised it doesn't starve the CPU cooler of fresh air.

Glad to see that you switched your fan orientation on those side fans.

Looked like there was way too much negative pressure before.
