The reason it didn't reach the US is partly that USAID worked to stop it in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. Now there's an Ebola outbreak in Uganda, and USAID is sidelined because of Musk and Trump. This is an invitation for China and Russia to expand influence

There's something profoundly discomfiting about seeing the world's richest man gleeful at destroying an agency that serves the world's poorest children. But it doesn't just serve the poor -- it also serves us. Remember the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa (which had Trump in hysteria back then)?

Sure, I've seen aid wasted. Yes, USAID, the American aid agency, could use some reforms. But what President Trump and Elon Musk have undertaken at USAID isn't reform but vandalism. Demolition.
