I was at the VA when a vet sat down, muttering something was stupid. I ask what & he points to Combat Casualties and "it's stupid there's nothing but females on the cover." I asked why that was stupid. He then asked my branch and said "of course" when I said AF and started angrily texting. Lol wut?

To make up for the fact I was an awful high school student (1.8 GPA, baby!), I’ve decided to read some of the books I was supposed to read back then. Yknow, I don’t really care for this Tom Buchanan fella.

I saw a video on Tiktok this morning where some guy was saying that if you put your home into a revocable living trust you need to tell your insurance company. WTF. Our attorney did not tell us that. I called them up and yup, we shoulda let them know years ago. Thanks random Tiktok guy.

I got a Cuomo for Mayor add (Tiktok thinks I live in New York, for some reason). It's not a great sign when comments are turned off.

I just like to post these data from time to time to puncture the mythological aura of mid 20th c protests. They were less popular than pretty much any 21st c mass action & people criticizing them used the same lines. Protest is about people coming together, shaping narratives, & building power.

One thing I'd wish people told me about parenthood was just how much I was going to have to spend on fruit in the summer. How can someone so small fit so many strawberries?

The cafe on campus says they won't have iced coffee for a while because it's "cold." Dude, it's a meme at this point that it doesn't matter the weather, New Englanders will drink iced coffee. There could be a blizzard going on and people will be standing in the snow with their iced Dunks.

This nonsense reminds me of something @imanibarbarin.bsky.social has said: anyone can become disabled. Not just in the "I got in a car accident" sense, but definitions can change. Yes, "Trump Derangement Syndrome" is nonsense, but give these people five years...?

I am very unhappy that there was an earthquake in Boston. Not because it scared me-I'm from CA-but because my anxiety-filled daughter is going to make this a long night.

It's definitely not the best, but when I was enlisted, we'd sometimes fly over the Las Vegas Stirp on the way back to base. It took me years to get even a semi-decent shot (apparently flying in a helicopter at night isn't the easiest way to go about things).

There's a trend on Tiktok where people are seeing old family members on Google streetview and so I tried to do that. When I was looking at places I lived I couldn't help but thinking, "did...did I grow up poor?"
