In fact they usually love the library and its services and are some of the people who thank me the most when I help them.

They're super grateful for this free service and are surprised by how helpful we are but don't put 2 and 2 together and realize what they're enjoying is effectively socialism.

dieting books, and the fiction they read is usually easy beach-reads or formulaic, predictable stories pumped out by extremely prolific authors who have nothing interesting to say.

Anyway, all that's to say I think it's weird people seem to think that conservatives don't like libraries...

they support politicians who would love to defund the library, or they don't care and think it won't affect them somehow.

A lot of them also DO read books, but they read dumb books. They read non-fiction books by Fox news anchors, conservative radio whackjobs, alternative medicine guides,

technologies that they have to use to exist in modern society, like when their phones aren't working how they expect them to, applying to jobs online, scanning documents to apply for government benefits, etc.

They need these things and expect someone to help them for free, but don't realize that
