Bi Gan's Resurrection is not just one of *the* movies of 2025, it's one of the best of the decade. Maybe a masterpiece.

I can't believe how fortunate we are to have new movies from each of Kelly Reichardt, Lynne Ramsay, Claire Denis, Sofia Coppola, Kathryn Bigelow, Julia Ducournau, and Lucrecia Martel in the same season.

If MAGA had any culture, they'd be furious.

Anora is fairly 'just fine' and one of Baker's lesser movies, but at least it passes for me. I'm happy for Baker.

Also, certainly happy The Academy have *not* embarrassed themselves for a second consecutive year. Let the nightmare of 2020-2022 remain a distant memory.

Eraserhead is a fantasy horror that brilliantly distills the fear of raising a child and losing one's independence into a perfect surrealist nightmare, one that only David Lynch could've made.

A ★★★★★ review of Eraserhead (1977)

One of the most important, most innovative, and one of my most beloved filmmakers of the medium I love.

With Mulholland Drive, he changed the way I view cinema, when I first saw it at age 17.

Rest in Peace to the great David Lynch

Recently rewatched Billy Wilder’s Double Indemnity for the first time in decades. The movie that propelled the film noir genre and created the femme fatale character; easily one of the most important and inspirational movies ever made.

Stanwyck is amazing. That dialogue cracks so hard.
