Clearly not a lefty. They've used the "trans relationship" angle as (the only) evidence of leftism, when in fact furries and trans femboys are very much a thing in the alt-right ecosystem. He appears to be largely apolitical, likely alt-right adjacent (evidence: memes, pepe Halloween costume).

This image shows Kirk's killer dressed as alt-right groyper icon pepe for Halloween. It was posted by his mom on Facebook. This is not the behavior of a lefty. Authorities have not addressed this obvious inconsistency (one of several) with their "leftist" assessment.
