Wrapping up our coverage of Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence's Trails of Time: a Multimedia Guidebook to Historic Métis-sur-Mer! This incredible project has managed to preserve this charming town's heritage in a uniquely accessible format. Be sure to check it out next time you're in the area! #quebec
September 5, 2025 at 12:47 PM
Despite its Anglophone history, Métis-sur-Mer also hosts a significant Francophone community, which Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence made certain to include in the guidebook. As such, its text and audio components are fully bilingual, even dubbing residents' oral accounts in some cases! #quebec

Founded in 1818 by Scottish settlers, Métis-sur-Mer is a town with a rich and unique Anglophone history in a part of Quebec generally lacking in English speakers. It is this tradition that the guidebook seeks to preserve, making it easily accessible for future generations! #quebec

Introducing yet another Trellis project! Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence is a community organization serving Quebec's smallest English-speaking population--with the support of Trellis, they created a multimedia guidebook to preserve the history of Metis-sur-Mer! Stay tuned for more! #quebec

And that's that for the Montreal Printed Arts Festival! Be sure to check out their next edition and ARCMTL's many other offerings throughout the year that help make Montreal the cultural destination it is... for French and English speakers alike! #montreal #booksky

Emerging artists were equally a priority for this year's FAIMTL, including presentations from publications like À Flots and Pica Magazine, the latter featuring the work of students at UQAM's School of Design. Miniature prints destined for Distroboto machines were also seen! #montreal
August 21, 2025 at 8:00 PM
More great stuff from the Montreal Printed Arts Festival! Did you know this isn't the only initiative that ARCMTL is responsible for? You can get low-cost works by emerging artists at one of their Distroboto machines or attend the annual Expozine, Montreal's largest small press fair! #montreal
August 20, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Since its inauguration in 2016, FAIMTL has been going strong... but of late they'd noticed a pattern: decreased Anglophone participation. As such, this Trellis grant was all about bringing the community back in and making them feel welcome... a great success, it would seem! #montreal #booksky

The Festival is a huge endeavour, encompassing events at various locations from the Indigenous-run Daphne centre to the renowned Afromusée exhibit centre. But at the heart of all of them is a celebration of print-making--in fact, the Festival is the only one in the city dedicated solely to the art.

Say hello to our latest Trellis project spotlight... ARCMTL's Montreal Printed Arts Festival! From the same organization that's made Expozine a yearly item on the city's literary calendar, this showcase of all things print-making has much that's exciting to uncover! #booksky #montreal

That's a wrap on our coverage of Scorpio Moon! We were very lucky to be able to support this groundbreaking production and help bring it to a Francophone audience not normally seen attending English shows. Look out for Imago's forthcoming shows this season: Cult Play and Crash! #theatresky
August 8, 2025 at 12:47 PM
Creating the surtitles for Scorpio Moon was a challenge! Not only did the translation process face the usual challenges of replicating the author's original intent, but the surtitles also had to be timed to coincide perfectly with the dialogue. Good thing Imago regular Elaine Normandeau was on hand!
August 7, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Imago has a history of producing plays in unconventional locales-- The Retreat, a boundary-pushing tale exploring mental health, was performed at the Bain Mathieu, a former public swimming pool. Studio Mile-Ex, the venue for Scorpio Moon, fit the 'abandoned warehouse' setting perfectly! #theatresky
August 6, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Both graduates of Concordia's Theatre and Development program as well as the National Theatre School, this play was a passion project for playwright Adjani Poirier and director Murdoch Schon. Born of a constrained writing exercise at NTS, it's come a long way since then! #theatresky #montreal
August 5, 2025 at 8:12 PM
As part of Imago's commitment to education through theatre, the company created an educational zine to accompany Scorpio Moon, exploring some very topical subjects such as late-stage capitalism, 'selling out', and colourism. Who says art doesn't teach us nothin'? #theatresky
