Today's comic really emphasizes that good stories can *and should* have complex moments that can be both celebrated and condemned. While I love Joe/Joyce, I love more the pathos of this story. People being happy is boring. Also: Sarah's emotional growth has been a surprising bonus in all of this.

This is the way.

I was definitely the former. I'm not upset about the current developments, and I'm very aware that there were plenty of signs of Joyce's bisexualness in other comics, but I dunno, I just took that at face value and stopped thinking about it entirely. Again, not mad, but it was definitely a surprise!

I'm west-coast, but I started using "y'all" after a peer review noted using the word "guys" to refer to my class would be potentially othering, especially to english language learners (and possibly other groups). It's a great word and much better than the other offered alternative of "class."

Yup, like I said, totally oblivious.

This was one of the big cures of my impostor syndrome; I even still sometimes think I'm an idiot even though I have a frikkin' PhD, because nearly anyone can talk circles around me if they know how to spew gibberish well enough.

The genuine smartest people I know don't tend to show it off.

Seriously? Now ~I~ feel old! 😉

Your marriage is old enough to vote!

I'm similarly oblivious. Everyone Joyce dated was a guy, so I just kinda went, "ok cool she likes guys."

This plotline has me revising my thought pattern to, "ok cool she likes guys and girls. Or at least one very specific girl."

100% agreed. I'm not even confident there will even be a blue shift at this point. The whole country has gone mad.

I would improve my resolve: I've dedicated myself to a task that I eventually fail to maintain too many times!

The problem in my mind is that intelligence is too broad a concept, and things like memory and focus could fall under the umbrella for intelligence. Are we talking about memory recall, adaptability, creative deduction, or something else?

He did a fantastic job, I agree! I'm not trying to downplay his talent at all, but to a casual listener the voice still sounds somewhat masculine. That said I don't even know what a truly 100% gender-neutral voice would sound like.

The audiobooks were read by a masculine voice, so that may also be part of it.

Looks really good from the trailer! What's the gameplay like and how long is it? Is it something I could play in half hour to an hour stretches?

People are not taking it kindly (and nor should they)

I like that boulder, that is a nice boulder.
