I use an app called Skeets because it has iPad support unlike the main app. In the settings there is an option to refer to new items as posts or skeets. I chose posts. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/skeets-for-bluesky/id6466340923

I'm using the free version on my iPad. I think the subscription just adds some additional features.
