This is why the advice is usually not to clearfell on paws. Sometimes other non affected trees are also felled for cost reasons. I hope that’s clearer. the incorrect bit wasn’t a quote but an incorrect summation of what I said.

Hi. sorry, just seen, was on annual leave. To clarify I was talking about sig levels of spruce planted on ancient woodland across England known as PAWS. Clearfell opps to deal with pests and disease are known to cause damage to ancient woodland remnants such as ground flora and veteran trees.
