Center Left Capitalist dealing in straight FACTS. Ideals don't matter if you can't win. Politics, News, Economics, Polling data.
This is an issue Dems are already behind. Which is why the 7.25 minimum wage exists basically only in red states.

If you chose option (a), congrats!

In case you need this, here are the vote totals on the original bill that resulted in the TikTok ban. Trump signed an EO in 2020 to initiate a ban. Biden signed one to reverse that EO in 2021.

Nobody is “saving TikTok.” Just scoring political points.

Reminder: Donald Trump still thinks a Tariff is a tax paid by foreign countries to the United States. And people still think George W. Bush is the dumb one.

The fact that Americans expect Biden's presidency will go down in history as worse than Trump's first term or George W Bush's term is a sad indication of the growing misalignment between perception and reality. Biden had flaws. Many Americans did struggle. But this is not a fact-based assessment.

An interesting dynamic on identity and representation. The makeup of the US congress is lagging significantly behind the rest of America in Religious affiliation. In an increasingly NON-religious society, members of Congress continue to reflect the religious breakdown of last century.

What are YOU not understanding. This was your original claim. I've posted multiple data sources that suggest you DONT HAVE EVIDENCE FOR THIS CLAIM. And you're now continuing to not provide evidence for this claim.

The difference between you and me is that my opinions are grounded in data.

Never let these dishonest hack fucks live this down. These people know that they are hypocrites and don't care because their audiences lack critical thinking skills.

The fact that Republicans lose elections consistently with this electorate should be a massive indictment on their ideas. Trump doesn’t win because people like him. He wins in spite of being a terrible candidate because of a super sympathetic electorate.

But, here is a breakdown of affirmative asylum claims by year, based on data from table 1a. here: ohss.dhs.gov/sites/defaul...

The majority of growth in Asylum claims is ALSO not coming from countries impacted by PCA. It's largely Cuba and Venezuela, not El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

I agree the Biden admin's handling of Immigration came too late. It would've come sooner if Republicans hadn't tanked the bill, but that's not a good excuse. I prefer Obama era immigration policy.

Trump's policy was no better. Until Covid, his admin saw no incremental contribution vs. Obama.

You don't have evidence that PCA is a joke. Here are some of the things they have gone to so far, with the goal being a roughly 10 year plan. www.state.gov/progress-on-....

You can see in the data here pretty sharp drops in immigration from Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua

The funniest thing about this H1B discourse is that the MAGAts who are crying about it are the same ones who are yelling about how college is a scam.

Brother, if our country was educated enough to not need H1B workers, Trump wouldn’t be president right now.

To provide some context for this, there have been a lot of media headlines citing to an Emerson college poll indicating high support of the killing amongst young voters.

But if you actually look at the poll, it’s not a good story.

68% opposed.

I have so many questions…
December 15, 2024 at 1:55 PM
An incredibly unfortunate reality of the electorate…those people deserve whatever comes at them for the next 4 years, but they aren’t really the folks Im getting at here. At a high level, here’s some exit polling that gets at the point I’m making here! “Democracy” simply didn’t swing vote share.

Good to know that the distinction between conservatives and Russian bots is still difficult to evaluate.

The level of stupidity this answer conveys is hard to put into words adequately. Suffices to say we are making history by having a president whose age exceeds his IQ.

There is absolutely no shot Trump could find Syria on a map, never mind understand the issues at play in this conflict. He abandoned Syria in 2019 when he withdrew without the support of our allies or the SDF and paved the way for destabilization. Don’t forget that.
December 9, 2024 at 4:47 AM
His account suggests that he doesn’t understand tariffs, has no plan for healthcare reform, and wants to repeal the 14th amendment, among other things. Liberal media is accurately depicting that as bad policy. So if you support that, leave us out of it and take accountability when it goes wrong 👍

Looking for folks to foster productive disagreement. Because lord knows we can't find it on that other place we all came from...
December 6, 2024 at 5:40 PM
But hold your horses - that's not the whole story. BluePrint released exit polling citing that cultural issues were a top 3 issue in relative importance among voters and THE TOP issue among swing voters (+25). So what is AP missing here?
December 6, 2024 at 5:01 PM
Here is AP News' exit polling results on key issues in the 2024 election, relative to 2020. This tells a story consistent with all other available polling I've seen, and there's one issue that didn't even make the list...That'd leave you with hypothesis 1.

Am I happy about this, or do I feel attacked? It’s like when Netflix asks me if I’m still watching.

Yes. Yes I am.
