The contrast on these butterflies is irresistible. I freaking love using contrasting colours to make them look as bright as possible.

Just another little buddy that's smooshed itself into a leaf. It looks real cosy.

Jackdaw with exaggerated iridescent colours. This might be the loosest I've we've managed to paint. Letting go of that tight control is so hard!

I love crested pigeons and I loved painting this. Funny hatted little buddy doing itself a little strut.

From sketch to final fish. I like its glowy little head and swishy fins.

I don't know which version of this frog I like better. The left is much brighter and kind of glowy, but the the right has better contrast. Hmm.

Pointy frog.

I'm a bit obsessed with this fish. There's some really cool mimicry and schooling with different species that happens around this fish and I want to drew more about it

A value study of a little smooshy frog.

There's parts of this I absolutely love and parts that are bugging the crap outta me. The eye is awesome, though. Love that eye.

Brachycephalus - the smallest frogs. These are the ones that are so small that they literally can't land a jump properly. They are derpy and awkward and I love them so much.

WIP. Value study of a frog, using a red/blue blend to make grey. The pigments separate a little to add blue and red hues to the otherwise grey scale painting.

I can't decide whether this is an underpainting or the finished thing. Either way, it might be the best thing I've ever painted in watercolour. Wow.

I did this one a while ago during a lovely date night in which Thomas and I painted together. Plague soldier beetle in Derwent Graphitint.
