What is beauty? Also how can I build a blast furnace in my front yard to smite the local homeowners association?

oh hey question. i've been wanting a fursuit mightily for a while now but one worry i've had is that as I start to work on feminizing my build and figure i might have fitment issues. has that been your experience?

i actually left the CS program and switched to NMC, which at my uni is like a de facto refugee program for traumatized CS students, and it was there that i learned to love writing and actually accept my passions so i dusted off that railway-centered narrative puzzle game i've been wanting to do

indie still has some financialization problems, cuz, ofc, artists gotta eat, but the important part is that there's still a measure of artistic integrity, and it warms my heart so much to see that folks are still passionate about it

I barely survived the CS program at my university because it was so heavily crunch-minded. I got into gamedev through that program and I still have a strong passion for it but I can't in good conscience subject myself to anything like that again, which is one major reason i chose to go indie

I've watched the decline of hobby stores throughout the century thus far, and universally it's because traffic to each store dwindles to nothing and the in-person business fails to turn a profit because the customer base has been moving online where stock is plentiful and prices are competitive

Meanwhile, the town about ten miles to our east, woefully inadequate in public transit accessibility and located right on the West Coast's primary north-south highway, thrives with about ten times the third spaces we have in spite of their rampant car dependency. There's no correlation
June 1, 2025 at 1:19 AM
I live in a place that's substantially less car-dependent than the place I moved from to get here. We have a big focus on bikeability and our local transit agency offers completely free bus service to all residents, but there are virtually no third spaces in the whole town
June 1, 2025 at 1:15 AM
I vehemently disagree with this notion. Car dependency as a problem has existed for far longer than the loss of third spaces. The shift away from third spaces and onto the internet coincided with the *opening* of online services, which carved out their niche via offering convenience
June 1, 2025 at 1:13 AM
cars are a huge part of this but it's by no means the only contributing factor. even with cars, third spaces used to exist before everything started moving online

it's like a vicious cycle of september getting septemberer so sites ensimplify to cater to the horde of septemberites which only shelters them from technology even further
