I love travel, food, surfing, my home in Hawaii, anything creative, and most of all my family!
Hippies come in all forms, fashions, and families, and since Paia Town has been a beloved, salty melting pot of hippie happenings since the 70s, I’m here to classify some of the most recognizable types for your knowledge and entertainment.

My dad smoked heavily for years, then quit one day, cold turkey. He never touched another cigarette. His sheer willpower and refusal to back down from bad habits has inspired me all my life. Let's take his lead for our resolutions!

The summit is home to plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth. Its crater is massive (over 7 miles across and 2,600 feet deep) dotted with red cinder cones and ancient lava flows that make the landscape look like Mars.

Sunrise from Haleakalā’s summit, clouds spilling like ocean foam.

Hours later, swimming beneath a waterfall. Passing surfboard fences in Paia and Haiku. Stopping to watch sunflowers sway in Central Maui.

Ending the day with haupia ice cream at Maui Tropical Plantation. #maui

Nearly 400 miles of unpaved roads wind across Lāna‘i, leading to hidden beaches, old ranch lands, and cultural sites. A 4x4 is the best way to explore beyond Lāna‘i City’s quaint streets.

Haleakalā looms over #Maui at more than 10,000 feet, but it’s what happens inside the crater that makes it unforgettable.

It’s one of the only places on Earth where you can walk inside a volcano that hasn’t erupted for centuries, and feel like you’ve left Earth entirely.

I've had some time on my hands, so I thought I'd sketch out my potential Halloween costume for next year. Been really fun drawing again!

I think I'll start up again.

Very few things delight like backyard fruit. The only one here we're needing to plant is the Ulu!

Our Maui wildlife's just as iconic as the scenery:

• Humpbacks slap the surface in winter
• Honu (green sea turtles) nap on the sand
• Spinner dolphins leap like gymnasts
• Monk seals haul out alone, rare and endangered
• Axis deer dart across upcountry roads at dusk

Someday I'll make it over to the Big Island for when the lava is flowing directly into the ocean. #lava #bigisland #hawaii

Why are axis deer such a problem on Maui?

• No natural predators
• Year-round breeding (each female can birth one fawn annually)
• Ability to adapt to harsh conditions

The result: an ecological imbalance that’s rapidly worsening.

Rainbow eucalyptus can grow more than 3 feet a year, reaching up to 250 feet tall. https://mauiguide.com/road-to-hana/

On Maui, they thrive in the wet, warm climate of East Maui, where the Road to Hana’s rainfall keeps their colors vivid. #rainboweucalyptus #roadtohana

Circle M Ranch offers horseback riding tours with some of the best views on Maui!

Expect a safety brief, a good horse match, and an easy pace so you can look around instead of staring at the saddle.
