Hard no. People staff the polls, it’s a lot of work (Want to do that after the holidays? No thank you.) The weather is terrible this time of year for much of the country (want to stand outside in -20 windchill? No thank you.) Beyond which, this week is one part of year to chill and reflect.

Depending on the dads she knew, could have been a compliment!

When Colbert is done at CBS, I am too. Until then, he’s the only CBS I watch, cuz I don’t enjoy propaganda.

I’m more surprised they’re cooked thru given they’re so thick! You must use a lower griddle temp. Well done!

Realized a very UNHELPFUL customer service rep I was chatting with in “real chat” was not a person. Asked “Are you a real person?” and it replied “Yes”. Like wtf. I did not buy from that store.

I turned off history, it said history only divulged if ‘required by law’. Is that history retained in the back end somewhere if history is turned off? what a thing to have to even think of the ‘thought police’.

I was able to go into my library system and turn off history. Haven’t yet tried on Libby.
December 20, 2025 at 4:49 PM
Thanks, I turned history off. Notice says the library will not divulge the history “unless required by law”. Kind of wondering if the history is saved behind the scenes even if history is turned off. I’d think a system would save some metrics, just to know popularity, times books have been borrowed.

I think this regime would be ok with that…

Thank you, very helpful. Just talking with someone asking how this is worse than past US transgressions - forwarding them your article.

I guess per this regime it’s killing two Gaza children a day…

With ICE budgets and erosion of civil rights, I think that’s what they’re hoping for…

My library card is linked to others in my household so we can all check out each others’ holds...

I can see the books I checked out in the past when I log into my account…
December 19, 2025 at 1:48 AM
I think it depends on the systems used by the library. On my library record I can see every book I’ve checked out or put on hold.

Agreed. Our tax dollars used to detain workers, parents, teachers, children, in inhumane conditions, no medical care, belligerent guards, no professional standards. The terror is real. For DACA, America IS their home, the only country they know, some only speak English… Terror and abuse.

If the hero, currently in hospital, maybe losing an arm, if he was Jewish, would it then be ok to laud him? So odd that lauding someone who made such a sacrifice, no matter their faith, is seen as taking away from victims’ pain. Maybe sit with that. We are all human in the end. Look for the helpers.

Yeah, I’d read he was Christian, still not sure of the truth, in any case, was glad he represented immigrants in such a good light; what a dad, stepped up when there was trouble. Watching that video I was so proud of him, moved me to tears. I doubt I could have done what he did. A true hero.

I finally found 1071, titled “A bill to require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to disinter the remains of Fernando V. Cota from Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Texas, and for other purposes.” Which amendment is on youth sports?? Thanks.

I’m finding nothing on this in net searches, wondering if it’s fake news, a smear campaign. Tammy may be a bit awkward, but is smart and kind, a good Senator, a good person.
