Do not go to locals. Instead, play on wireless and enter online tourneys. Then, throttle your connection and prolong your DQ for as long as possible. You can do this through arguing and taking at least 1 minute to respond to all of your opponent and TO’s messages. You’ll thank me later.

After further investigation and interviews with survivors, one player has been identified as the individual to clear the game.
Kazuto Kirigaya, screen name "Kirito", defeated the game's operator Kayaba Akihiko in a duel, clearing the game and releasing players.

It is confirmed that Sword Art Online has been cleared, and the game is being erased from the servers.
