Teenagers jumping in front of vehicles they know won't kill them or escalate sounds like it's going to be THE fun game of the 2030s.

So much of this right now, it's weird.

Why do you think that's a fair comparison?
December 23, 2024 at 10:11 PM
That's odd. It was my first concern: anyone can just jump in front of your car knowing it will stop automatically. You are definitely at heightened risk of attack due to predictable response of the automation.

Maybe but you're not trying to win over the wingnuts you're trying to win over the ordinary people who don't care/think Trump tax cuts will be good for them. Basically it has to stop being amusing entertainment for comfy people and start hurting. Then people sober up.

This is all "good economy" politics? What happens when your populist tax cuts or giveaways borks the bond market? The electorate will sober up pretty quickly if that happens.

Given you know how LLMs work I don't really get why you'd say this? They're good at bullshitting basically. That that might mean they get bits of code/mathematics right isn't really by design or reliable.

Yes ofc they have to come down! Most people want them to come down! That's not what JSO are advocating though is it?

And yet UK is what 1.5% of global emissions. It's all just so pointless.

By one measure the ONS disagrees but it does seem to suggest broadly flat inequality rather than decreasing sonce the 80s: www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopula...

It's good yes but is it really the case that inequality has gone up in the UK? I seem to remember being told that it had in fact come down over the last 30 years or so after a massive increase in the 80s. If it's increased it's within the 1% right? Not much beyond it?

The "run" itself was a bit like being on a very good humoured protest march or parade done at a quickstep. Lots of cheering for every marshal.

They ran out of tokens so resorted to raffle ticket numbers then writing on your hand and in the end just scanning your barcode and saying they'd add position later. The 6 funnels were backed up at least 200m before the finish line. I waited 1h from stopping to getting a token, others longer...
