Last summer's sofa snapshot - Ithell Colquhoun art world expert Dr Amy Hale, with our own Christina Oakley Harrington. Amy came to talk occult surrealism. Just two dear friends sharing a laughing hug before it got started.

Today I celebrate our 'Honouring Nature' shelves. Plant folk lore, foraging, forest bathing, right to roam, organic farming, climate crisis, kids' activities. Because it's important, because it's sacred to us.

This the the famous Treadwell's sofa, on which authors are interviewed, proposals have been made and even, acccording to rumours about a 2004 afterparty, a child was conceived. The folklore is real, kids.

Best job perk: hosting a bookish party almost every Thursday night, for bright, fun London folk. Being an indie bookshop is hard hard work, but worth it every day.

Fun fact of the day: Treadwell's is the home of Pamela Colman Smith's fireplace . Re-homed from her house in Parc Garland, Cornwall. It's now a bit of a shrine. Tarot queen love.

Today's customer question: "Why do you open only at midday?" Answer: we love nighttime parties that run as late as folk want to stay, so opening at 10 am the next day, well, nope.

We've been in Store Street 14 years. We cherish our neighbours, one and all. Carmen's print shop, Sophie's florist, Amelie's Wine Bar, the athletes' bike shop. We're all passionate about our "thing" and we all work incredibly hard to run small businesses we're proud of. #smallbusinesslondon
