Convention auctions are *lethal*. I just bought a late 70s Yamaha dreadnought. I'm not supposed to leave with more gear than I brought!

Granted it's crochet rather than knitting, this is my project during the convention. It's going to grow up to be a full sized throw and I continue to underestimate the amount of cotton yarn it's going to take. ;)

As it happens, Neil deGrasse Tyson is a fountain pen enthusiast *and* a purple ink fan -- alas, I don't know which particular ink he uses. I can't seem to get a good image of my Levenger Amethyst, but that's another good one to look into. I shan't be surprised if Iroshizuki has a good one, too.
