I must say, my sweet Carnotaurus – Trazie – had been through quite a metamorphosis as of late.

7. ‘Nurture’ by Porter Robinson

A sweet and introspective album from an artist I have admired in years.

The abstract textural and lush soundscapes are outer-worldly, contrasted by exciting and energetic dance cuts that bridge between reflection and enlightenment.

6. ‘Impossible Light’ by Uboa

This is up there with one of my favourite noise-adjacent albums.

It is a cinematic accumulation of eerie ambience and scattered noise chops, grounded by industrialised percussions and Uboa’s throat-shredding shrieks.

5. ‘HEY WHAT’ by Low

The last Low album – and a beautifully chaotic one. It executes a perfect balance between blaring distortion, shimmery soundscapes and sorrowful songwriting.

Rest in peace, Mimi Parker. 💔

4. ‘You Left A Hole’ by Embrionyc (2023)

When it comes to Hardcore Techno in this modern age, this has to be one of my all-time favourites in that field.

It is a marry of industrialised Techno and chugging ‘Slowcore’, accompanied by other Hardcore cuts that are quicker yet diverse in quality.

3. ‘Monarch Of Monsters’ by Vylet Pony (2024)

I feel like a record beyond broken from how much I treasure this album.

It made me reframe how raw and flexible songwriting can be, complementing the wacky and intense instrumentations that keeps me captivated. Stellar work from Vylet.

2. ‘The Gray In Between’ by Jeromes Dream (2023)

This album plows through emotions like a hurricane. It is raw and utterly blistering, yet equally stunning from a lyrical standpoint.

1. ‘Misery & Wonder’ by EASTGHOST (2019)

Six years on, I still come back to this album every once in a while. It feels timeless, aging like fine wine.
